Beside getting a chance to introduce our books for the local market we received a lot of publicity, TV and newspaper interviews and met foreign visitors who can potentially spread the word of our publications in their own countries.
PusztaSolar supported us to be present at the Tenth International Expo of Mako, Hungary (May 14-15, 2011). I'm sure that it will make a positive impact on the local market that we could finally show our books and could advertise the services of the language school during these two days. Meeting potential customers in person was essential to build our company image, too. It was very important to meet the county press and the local television. Both the television and the newspaper was interested in the possibly first ever franchise book publication in Hungary (Otto Treiber, Szélben, viharban) that came out in January, 2011. But there was a TV interview with my elder daughter, Kira because of the "Kids' English with Kira" series. She recently won an English contest for fifth graders in the county and had 6th place in the country-wide round in Budapest among over 200 participants. Last year AngolSuli Kft. had a literary talent research competition. One of the top contestants approached us to publish his long novel, and that's how the idea of franchise publication was born. The local television channel was so excited about the news of the literary competition and the successful franchise book publication that I was invited to their live program for a longer talk about those. Furtunately the book is a success story in many ways -- it's not only possibly the first of its kind in the country, but it is a book that has been selling so well that the investment returned in less than four months. The German sister town of Mako, Löbau had representatives at the expo and they took some free samples to show to local bookstores. It might be the beginning of yet another international cooperation. But there were visitors from neighboring Romania and Serbia who could also see our ESL books and take the news home. The guest coming from the farthest country was Michelle Lee from South Korea. She was the guest of PusztaSolar and I helped out with interpretation at her press interviews and business negotiations. I met her first in Frankfurt, Germany, earlier this year. She also took some samples home and will spread the news about the publishing company.
